About Us

The Alberta Association of Seniors Centres was incorporated in May of 2011. A Board of Directors was elected at the Grey Matters conference in September 2011 and we have been meeting since to work on networking and advocacy on behalf of seniors centres. We are now inviting all Seniors Centres to join.

Our Mission is to promote visibility, growth, development, expansion and quality of Seniors Centres in Alberta through supports, services, advocacy, education, training, networking and resources development.

What this really means is that we want to work together as Seniors Centres to improve and expand what we do, learn from and support each other, and assist others, including various orders of government, to understand the critical role Seniors Centres play in supporting seniors in the community.

As a new organization, we have much work to do. We hope that you will not only decide to join us, but will also become actively involved.

We’re glad you came to check out our website. While here, you can read our Vision and Purpose statements, see who is on the Board of Directors, review the Bylaws, or take part in a conversation with other Seniors Centres. And of course, you can apply to join us, either as a Regular member or as an Associate.
